Plastic with their advantages and disadvantages

15-01-2021

In everyday life, you see a lot of plastic is used for products (cups, cutlery, toys, cars, and so on). The first reason that plastic is used so widely, is due to the properties that plastic has. The second and of course the most important factor is the price. All differed types of plastics stay good for a long time, get easy in the correct shape of the product and are light in weight, wherefore it is good for mass production and transportation. However, the biggest drawbacks of plastic are, that all types of plastic are not digestible by nature and that a lot of plastic can't be recycled.

Because it is used and sold in huge quantities, it is important that it is properly cleaned up. Unfortunately, in daily life a lot of waste is thrown into nature by people. As a result, the plastic ends up in the nature and sea, where it forms a large plastic land. Animals can become entangled in this or die from eating plastic.

By using the correct types of plastic and by disposing of it correctly, we can reduce the ecological footprint and help the animals with problems, that we have created and left behind. We can help the world by using the recycle codes, that cause the fewest problems. Those recycle codes are indicated on the plastic products.

You would think they would be ranked from best to worse, however this is not the case.
The safe plastics that you can recycle without being toxic are recycle codes 1, 2, 4 and 5. Try to avoid numbers 3 and 6, those plastics are toxic for nature when it gets made and recycled. The recycle code 7 is a residual category that nobody can re-use, that plastic gets burned (to get rid of it), so you should definitely avoid this one.

Now that you know this, you can already improve the world!
